Now What Do I Do With It?

Don’t you just love it when things don’t as you had hoped!

On the day on King Charles III Coronation, I decided to start a stitch to commemorate the day and chose to do the new emblem.

My plan had been to make it into a little mat, to go into the bottom of the now empty tin of shortbread that was also brought to celebrate the special day and fill the said tin with a couple other coronation smalls.

Well the stitching is finished, and I’m pleased that my little faux pas with my starting point didn’t result in it falling off the fabric on the right hand side, but unfortunately it finished up being too big to fit in the tin.

It’s also too big for another tin I have, so now I have a dilemma as to how to finish it.

After that I decided to pull out ‘Oh Holy Night Nativity’ again, seeing as I’ve not touched it for a while.

This is where I left it

And this is where I am now.

You can now see just a little bit more of the angle and two shepherds.

Happy Stitching!

The Coronation of King Charles III

They always say that nobody does the Pomp and Ceremonial like we do here in the UK and once again we pulled it out of the bag.

Despite the weather, people for all across the UK and the world camped out along the route from Buckenham Palace to Westminster Abbey, so they wouldn’t miss any of the spectacle, that was the first UK coronation in more than 70 years.

I wanted to stitch something to commemorate King Charles III’s coronation, whilst I was watching all the ceremonial on the TV on the 6th May, and I settled on a PDF of the emblem that I downloaded from WllmsCo, on Etsy.

I’ve used some 32ct Belfast Linen in Antique White, that I had in my stash and I’m stitching with DMC in 321 and 820 and was making good progress until I run out of the Red, and had to wait for a  delivery from The Patchwork Rabbit.

I've also been playing chicken with my fabric on the right hand side because I didn’t get it in the centre when I started it.   It’s so, so  close to the edge, but my plan is to make it into a little mat to go into the bottom of a tin I have,  so fingers crossed I have just enough to turn a small hem.

I also have a couple of smaller charts that I want to stitch that will also live in the tin.

Happy Stitching!
