The Sheep are Grazing in their Winter Pasture

This morning I had a call from my framers, Frames of London, to say my stitching was ready to collect.

Needless to say, I couldn’t get there quick enough!

I just love, love, love this frame!!

This is Little Sheep Virtues 1 to 12 from Little House Needleworks and Sheep in the Meadow from Cottage Garden Needleworks.  It’s stitched with DMC and some overdyed Weeks Dye Works thread on 36ct Vintage Country Mocha.

I did have all the little ‘Just Another Button Co’, buttons for the Little Sheep Virtues, but I made the decision to leave them off before having it framed.

Happy Stitching!

Little Sheep Virtues - Sheep in the Meadow

I’ve been working on the ‘ Little Sheep Virtues’ series, from Little House Needlework's since January, making it into one big project, with ‘Sheep in the Meadow Singing’ from Country Cottage Needlework's  in the centre.

The good news is that this week I managed stitch to the final two panels, ‘Joyfulness’

 & ‘Friendship’,

Which bring this 10 month project to an end.

All that’s left for me to do is sew on all the little buttons.

There’s no rush for that though, as it won’t be going to framers for a while yet.  I already have three pieces in there being done at the moment, so I’ll have to save some pennies before this one goes in!

It’s been such a fun project to stitch over the months and I have to thank Felicia #mousepotatodesigns on Instagram,  who is also working on the same stitch, for all her support and inspiration (hence the curly sheep) while I was working on it.

Happy Stitching!

Little Sheep Virtues - Gratitude

My latest panel from the Little House Needleworks series, Little Sheep Virtues is ‘Gratitude’.

I know I’ve said it before, but boy are those borders a pain to stitch.  It’s not that they are difficult, just tedious, so while the piece was still in my hoop (and I couldn’t be bothered to sort out another piece to stitch on) I decided to go ahead and make a start on the border of the one.

I can see an end in sight with just two more panels left to stitch, so now I need to decide if I just carry on stitching this one until it’s finished or put it away and leave it until next month, as my plan was to stitch one a month………decisions, decisions!

Happy Stitching!

There’s always a Black Sheep in the Family…………

But this little Black Sheep is rather cute!

I’m passed the half way mark now and heading for the finish line with this next panel of Little Sheep Virtues.

This is ‘Faith’

I had to change the colour the border was stitched in on this one because it was light and was getting lost on the fabric.

Little Sheep Virtues – Peace

I’m so pleased that I decided to start this set of charts over and put them all on the one piece of linen.

‘Peace’ is the third in the series.

With this third one stitched, I was able to find the middle of the finished piece and make a start on the centre design, ‘Sheep in the Meadow Sing’

Happy Stitching!

Decisions, Decisions!

Hi all, I hope everyone has had a good week.

It definitely makes me feel happier when the sun is shining as it has been here in the last few days.  It’s been warmer too, so coffee in the garden it was…..a sure sign that spring is on the way!

My good news this week is that yesterday I had my first Covid 19 vaccine, so things are definitely looking up, especially as I’ve had no side effects at all, as yet and I’m keeping everything crossed it stays that way.

I put some stitches into three of my WIP’s this week and had one small finish.

On ‘Sleigh Bell’s Ring from Cross Stitcher magazine, I now have five of Santa’s reindeers done’, with four to go.

When I started this I did think it might be a bit early to start on Christmas stuff but I have to say, because there’s no deadline to work to, I’m really enjoying stitching it.   Just a well really because I have another one to stitch after this one is finished.

I also pulled out ‘Gratitude’,  part #12 of The Songbird’s Garden Series from Cottage Garden Samplings.

This is the first time I’ve actually stitched on this for more than a year.  It was put aside because of my eye problem when I was finding it a bit of strain, but it’s all fine now and I’m loving it again.

The final project I worked on this week was Little Sheep Virtue -#1 Hope from Little House Needleworks and this was my little finish..........sort of.

I originally planned to fully finish these into twelve small pillows but I have since seen other stitchers doing them all as one piece, adding Country Cottage Needleworks “Sheep in the Meadow” in the centre with the twelve virtues around the outside.

I now have that chart and the threads but now I don’t know what to do…..decisions, decisions!

Well, that’s it for this little update.

I can’t believe that tomorrow is the 1st March and the first day of spring but on the up side, it means the days will be getting longer and warmer and I will be able to get back to stitching in the garden, enjoying the sunshine.

So until next time, have a Happy time Crafting!

(Whatever you passion may be)
