At Least I’ll have Warm Feet This Winter!

I used to knit and crochet a lot in my younger years and one point even have a Brother knitting machine, which I loved.  As the years passed other crafts took over, and apart from knitting prem baby clothes and blankets for my local baby unit, I’ve actually knitted very little in the last few years.

But the knitty bug is back and I’ve just finished my first pair of socks.

The pattern for the top down shorty socks is a download from Earthtones Girl, on Ravelry

and the yarn I used is West Yorkshire Spinners – Signature 4 ply in ‘Wood Pidgeon’.

I’ve learnt some new skills too whilst knitting them.

I learnt to do my first long-tail cast on and I knitted on circular needles, which was an interesting experience. 

 

In actual fact, I loved knitting with them so much that I am going to have a go at knitting a jumper with a top down, circular yoke.

I have the pattern, 

so all I have to do now is sort out the yarn and I’ll be ready to start, so wish me luck.
