‘Ginger’ Animal Cracker – Christmas Cookie Series– Stacy Nash

I started November with a little bit of pre stitching, getting ready for the ‘Jingle Ball’ next month.

This will be my first time actually taking classes at ‘the ball’ because for the last two years I’ve just lurked in the background enjoying the entertainment and shopping.

This year I’m being braved and I’ve enrolled in three of the classes from Stacy Nash, Jeanette Douglas & Liz Mathews.

I’m not sure how the time difference is going to work, but hopefully I won’t be doing my classes in the early hours of the morning!

I believe that the classes are available for 30 day after, so if that does happen I can still look back on them, but it would be fun to join in as it happens.

Two of the three classes require some pre-stitching in readiness for the class, so I decided to tackle my first ‘Animal Cracker’ from Stacy Nash.

Meet ‘Ginger’ from the ‘Christmas Cookie’ series

Unfortunately we were unable to get the kitted projects over here, so I got the PDF and kitted it myself.

At the time, I couldn’t get the called for fabric either but Stacy suggested that Aztec Red,  from Weeks Dye Works would work well, so that’s what I went with.

I made a couple of other small changes to my stitching too.

The called for ‘Sanguine’ thread was perfectly fine in some places but my skein was more on the beige side than pink and when I got to the decorations on the gingerbread house, it didn’t really show up very well at all, so I swapped it for Red Pear.

The last change I made was to the decorations on wreath on her pocket. The wreath is stitched over one and the single stitches seemed to get lost, so I decided to use French knots instead.

Now I just have to be patient and wait for the class!

Happy Stitching!

Float Like A Butterfly - Plum Street Samplers

My  July Cross Stitch Camp project is finished and to say it was out of my comfort zone is an understatement.

The brief was to take a full colour chart and change at least two of them, to make it reflect yourself.

Up until now, I've never been brave enough to change more than the shade of a particular colour but with this, I jumped in with both feet and changed up everything!

I’ve changed the fabric to a Lavender colour and have used only three of the original called for thread colours.

I finished it as a pillow, edged with chenille trim.

 Happy Stitching!

‘With Love’ – Modern Folk Embroidery

When Jacob from Modern Folk Embroidery released this chart I knew exactly how I wanted to stitch it.

This May would have been my mum and dad’s 78th wedding anniversary and this was the perfect design to celebrate that fact.

As mentioned in a previous post, it was also a great opportunity to use up some of the left over Roxy Floss Co threads from previous Holiday Countdowns, so I chose two lovely Purples from last year’s box and a Green from the 2022 box.

My favourite colour combination!

After just 17 day from start to finish, I have completed it.
I also had the foresight to order my frame from Picture Frames Express whilst I was still stitching it, so I was able to get it fully finished as soon as I was done.

Thank you to Caroline at Evertote for putting together this great Sal with Kerry and Jacob.

Yet another fabulous collaboration!!

Happy Stitching!

Christmas Cheer!

Well, now all the shops are filled with Christmas stuff, even before Halloween in some places, I thought it was about time to get back to some Christmas and Winter stitching.

I’ve pulled out all the charts I have and decided to finish the ‘Christmas Cheer Pin Pillows Collection’ by Jeanette Douglas.

The chart is a new release this year, but I purchased it last year as an exclusive from Evertote and managed to get the first two pillows finished,  ‘Tis the Season ‘ and ‘Noel’

Yesterday I finished stitching ‘Peace on Earth’and made a start on ‘Joy’,

so there are just two more to go until the collection is complete.

You can never go wrong with a Jeanette Douglas design!

Oh, and I also received my latest stash of fabric from Tamás,

at Nicholas Flamel Design, on Etsy.

This time I ordered the Parchment Collection and once again Tamás has knocked it out of the park!

Happy Stitching!
