You’ve Been Framed!

And about time too, when it comes to ‘Faith’ from Cottage Garden Samplings.

This is my 8th finished piece from the series ‘The Song Bird’s Garden’ and I stitched it back in June 2021.

Since then it’s sat in the box of doom waiting for me to order the frame for it.

As usual, when I’m framing something myself, I ordered the frame from Picture Frames Express and while I was at it I ordered a second one for another finished project and then spent an afternoon FFO’ing them.

So here’s ‘Faith’

And this is ‘Santa’s House’, another piece from Cottage Garden Samplings.

I’m not sure if I went a little OTT with this frame, but I really love the moulding and went for it.

What do you think?

Also during the last week I managed to put some stitches into ‘Mary Allcorn 1764, the reproduction sampler.

I managed to finish the alphabet and number band

and the two bands of Algerian Eyelets, which I really loved working on.

and made a start on the flower vases on the next band.

 Happy Stitching!

Little Sheep Virtues - Kindness

I’m getting closer to the end of this year long project and just have three more panels to complete it.

The plan when I started was to stitch on one a month, but now I can see the finishing line, I’m now thinking that I want to get it done and dusted and may just press ahead with it to get to the end.

This latest panel is Kindness.

The Flock Grows!

The forth in the Little Sheep Virtues series is Courage.

As I was stitching it I couldn’t help but think of the courage that the people of Ukraine are showing, while facing the atrocities that the Russians are inflicting on them.

As many around the world, I feel helpless but prey for a quick end to all the madness and killing that is going on.

Sheep in the Meadow Sing

 At last, another finish!

‘Sheep in the Meadow Sing’ from Cottage Garden Needleworks is part of a bigger project I’m currently working on at the moment and the plan is to stitch one of the 12 ‘Little Sheep Virtues’ from Little House Needleworks each month to surround it.

I changed it up a bit, by adding some back stitch to the flowers and around the door and windows and then I noticed that Felicia from  @mousepotatodesigns  on Instagram is also stitching both designs and had stitched her sheep with curly coats, using lots and lots of French knots, so I blatantly copied her, Lol!

In actual fact, I’ve done mine with colonial knots because I find them easier but never the less, they are pretty intensive.

I loved the sheep so much that  I’ve even re-stitched the coats of the sheep on the three Little Sheep Virtues I have already finished.
