Another Chatelaine Weekender in the Bag!

Once again this past weekend I joined in with the Chatelaine Weekender and the goal I set myself on Friday, was to finish the lace in the lower left-hand corner.

There were a few more of the leaves, made up with specialist stitches (Rhodes and Rice stitches) to stitch.

Then I went on the do a bit more of the border, bringing to about half way up the side,  but I couldn’t decide whether to continue on and do the outside flowers of the border or go on and make a start on the next one over one butterfly.

The butterfly won because logic was telling me that if I finished the border off first it would mean I would probably end up stitching two butterflies, one after the other.

At least by doing it in this order, I would give myself a break of ‘normal’ stitching in-between doing them!

So this is where I finished up on Sunday Evening.

I also had a couple of small starts last week.

The first is Little Sheep Virtues ‘Kindness’, from Little House Needleworks.     I managed to get most of the border stitched.

The other thing I stitched on was from the Joyful World Sal by the Snowflower Diaries.

My plan for the twelve monthly panels is to display the appropriate one, each month in a frame, as you can see in my last post.

The Snowflower Diaries also provides a chart for a pretty border that can go around them, in the frame, so I decided that I wanted to do that, but I’m going to do a different one for each of the four seasons.

Obviously I’ve started with autumn.   I changed the colours to a suitable colour pallet and I’m adapting the chart a little to suit the season, changing some of the flowers to acorns and berries……..well that’s the plan, anyway, will see as I get more stitching done.

Well, that’s about it for another week.

I’m not sure how much I will get done in the coming week because I’m preparing for my birthday celebration this weekend coming, with some special friends, so we will have to see if I manage to get any stitches in.

Happy Stitching!
