Leap Year Day!!

As I’m sure you all know, today is a very special day for those born on the 29th February, because they get to celebrate their birthday on the actual date that they were born, an occurrence that only happens once every four years.

So if you are one of the lucky ones ( or unlucky, depending how you look at it) then I wish you a very happy birthday and hope you have had a wonderful day.

And seeing as today is a very special day, of course it deserves a very special new start and I had just the thing sitting in my sewing room, waiting for the right moment.

‘My Sewing Box’ , designed by Jeanette Douglas.

As you would expect from Jeanette, this is a project full of ‘mini’ projects that are crammed packed with pretty designs, specialist stitches and all stitched in beautiful, luscious colours of silks.

I have decided to start with the band sampler.

I’ve also work on ‘Palace of the Winds’ from Jan Hicks, giving it another 6 days of stitching, and almost finishing that big semi-circle near the centre.

The only other thing to report this week is a little bit of haul.

I’ve noticed recently that a few people are stitching the Dimensions Gold Collection Petites ‘Coffee Shoppe’ and as much a love the design, after the fun and games I had stitching ‘A Kiss for Santa’ last year, I said I would never stitch another petite.

So what did I go and do………..

You’ve guessed it, I went and ordered it and ‘Toy Shoppe’ too, so I now have two to stitch, Lol!

So that’s it for February.

I worked on a total of 11 projects over the month,  had 8 new starts, 5 finishes and stitched on all 29 days, so it was a fun packed month. No FFO's though this month.

Spring is just around the corner, hopefully, I’ll see you all next month.

Happy Stitching!

Sue

  2. Sue, I am envious of you having all the silks for your Stitching Box. I bought this chart in Australia last year but I doubt I'll be able to find all the silks in the UK and I hate ordering from the US, the postage is usually horrendous and there's the risk of getting caught by customs. Look forward to seeing your progress.

    1. Hi Sandra, I ordered mine from 123 stitch (chart & most of the silks) and didn't get caught for customs. They have a flat rate for posting to the uk too (£4.99 if I remember correctly) and are usually pretty quick to deliver as well. Happy Stitching! Sue x

    2. That's a really good postage rate from the US, I'll remember that for the future.

  4. Thanks Stasi. I really am loving stitching with the silks. I had no luck finding the box over here though. In the end, I decided I really had to have it and ordered it from Farm Girl Dry Goods because their postage wasn't too extortionate.
