Another 12 in 23 Christmas Ornament is done and dusted but this month thinks didn’t quite go to plan.
For
some time, I’ve been wanting to do an ornament
finish in one of those acrylic baubles that I’ve seen in Hobbycraft, so when I came
across the DMC Classic Christmas Ornaments, I knew this was the month to make
it.
I have a subscription to Readly, where you can access many back issues of all sorts of magazines, including cross stitch ones and this ornament was in the Just Cross Stitching Christmas Ornament Special from 2017.
The Reindeer
was calling to me, so I did the math and worked out that if I stitched it on
36ct it would fit perfectly
in
the bauble.
Stitching finished, I realised that had made a blunder
and
somehow managed to pick up a piece of 32ct instead of 36ct, meaning it doesn’t
fit in the bauble, and I had to finish it another way.
I ended up doing a flat round and crocheted double picot edge to which I added some gold beads to complete the vintage look.

While it wasn't the finish you planned, your reindeer stitch and finish is adorable. Well done, Sue!
