For my 12 in 23 Christmas ornament this month I decided to re-stitch something that I first stitched last year, when I made two these two Mill Hill Snowmen for my Goddaughter’s two girls.
I had a lot of threads and beads left over, so I decided to stitch the Evergreen Snowman for myself, but this time on a piece of 28ct mystery linen instead of perforated paper, which the originals were stitched on. Because the linen was quite a loose weave, I thought I would stitch with 3 threads over 2 lined threads and the coverage was perfect!I wasn’t sure how I was going to finish it, maybe as flat, on mount board or a little stuffed pillow but in the end I went with a shaped pillow, which I hand stitched because of the shape and I edged it with handmade cording and beads.
Whose idea was it to stitch all those little individual beads around the edge, Lol! It took for ever!
Happy Stitching!
Sue
